"I came to the Mission on my own, and I'm so glad I did…I've been able to get away from the temptations that have really hurt me. I have a better perspective on my life and what God wants for me." - Joe, Haven of Rest resident

  • Mending Wounds, Healing Hearts…by Hannah Rodgers

Haven of Rest’s banquet theme for this year is Mending Wounds, Healing Hearts. Psalm 147:3 says, “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” Many of the men, women and children who come to Haven of Rest are trying to piece their broken hearts together or are looking for a place where they can have the opportunity to find relief from their physical, emotional, or psychological wounds. This Psalm is a great reminder of who is doing the healing and who we should go to in times of pain and weakness: our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

All of the comprehensive programs, events, and services that Haven of Rest provides would be for naught if God, our Great Physician and Healer, was not the driving force and reason for the healing that can happen at the Mission. We are so blessed that God has chosen to use Haven of Rest to reach out to those in need of His healing and comfort and has provided the resources to make it possible for the last seventy-two years; With God all things are possible.
