2020 Fall Luncheon and Dinner Cancelled

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “Plans for peace and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future.”  – Jeremiah 29:11

Dear Friends:

RE:  Fall Luncheon and Dinner Cancelled

For 77 years Haven of Rest Ministries has served the most vulnerable in our community.  In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are steadfast in our mission to provide meals, shelter, clothing, and other vital services, as well as comfort and hope. We remain open 24/7 through your generosity.

Our theme for 2020 is Hope and A Future.  This is the perfect verse for this year! When so many things are in turmoil, God remains the same.  COVID-19 has not diminished the transforming power of Christ to save and change lives.

Connecting with you face to face and sharing what your prayers and support mean to all of us at the Mission during our Fall Luncheon and Dinner is something we look forward to each fall.  This year is different.  Our highest priority is your health and safety.  We do not want to put anyone at risk. With deep disappointment, we are cancelling the fall luncheon and dinner this year but hope to resume our regular events in 2021.  We do not come to this decision lightly but know it is best for all involved.

Our hearts are overwhelmed with the outpouring of compassionate generosity during these unprecedented times. In the midst of concern for yourself and loved ones, you have continued to give to help those who are homeless and hopeless. Together we are impacting lives both now and for eternity.

On behalf of the staff and the men, women and children we serve, we are grateful for your partnership. May you have a renewed sense of hope in this difficult season and may you and your loved ones be safe and healthy.
