Serving the Homeless in Northeast Ohio with Meals, Shelter, & Clothing | Drug & Alcohol Rehabilitation | Faith Based Rescue Mission in Akron, Ohio

The Haven of Rest, a faith based rescue mission, serves as a light to the homeless community in and around the Akron Ohio area. Offering food, shelter, safety, drug rehabilitation and most of all hope to those most in need.

Ed rededicated his live to Christ

Come to me all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28-30 NIV). Today these are words that Ed White lives by. But that has not always been the case. Ed shares, “There were six of us – our mother, father, my twin sister, a younger sister, a brother and me. My parents were believers but they didn’t attend church. It was my grandmother who took me to church regularly and I accepted Christ when I was 10 years old. It was a happy time. My anger with God began when my baby sister, Gail, who was my best friend, died from a congenital heart condition. I was 13. I became very angry with God. She was such a loving and caring person. And she loved Jesus with all her heart.
