National Volunteer Month
By Lucy Hackett
Thank you to our wonderful volunteers! (Video has just a sample of our many volunteers.)
Volunteers of all ages help, including young people! Everyone, thank you for volunteering your time, talent, and treasure as you raise awareness for our Mission’s needs, collect items, and serve in various capacities on site. Without you we would not be able to make this much of an impact!
Our Guests depend on our shelter’s accommodations and are blessed as we meet their needs and beyond. Because of our collaboration with volunteers, Guests not only receive enough food, clothing, and toiletries in comfortable surroundings, but they benefit from education classes, technology, workshops, birthday and holiday celebrations, recreational crafting and sewing, transportation to their jobs, school, and outings and special event festivities, games, and giveaways. Because of volunteers assisting, Residents and Guests are able to relax from tension they have had and find relief at our Mission.
We also thank the volunteers who assist in the Foodservice and Clothing departments as well as landscaping, driving, replacing bed sheets, and more. We appreciate the help as we see guests get back on their feet, grow, and receive healing. Together, we provide not just safe and appealing surroundings, but an atmosphere where they can hear from God with volunteer help at our Chapel services, Bible studies, and Praise team performances.
