Wishing Yvette McMillan a spectacular retirement! Thank you for serving Haven of Rest Ministries all these years!
Yvette McMillan received a Social Work Degree from the University of Akron, a Master’s Degree in Nonprofit Organizations from Case Western Reserve University, a Diploma in Church Theology from Ashland Theological Seminary, and is the recipient of numerous state and local awards including the Harold K. Stubbs Humanitarian Award in the area of Social Services.
Yvette served at Harvest Home for 28 years in a number of capacities including Administrative Assistant and Assistant Director with the final 16 years as the Director of the Women’s Division. During her tenure, Yvette contributed much in sharing the love of Christ. Some of the innovative programs and services she implemented are “Becoming”, a Christian discipleship program; “Harvest Home Addiction and Recovery Program”; and “Future Story”, a social enterprise program.
Yvette was one of the first people certified as a “Bridges Out of Poverty” trainer in Summit County. She initiated the “Getting Ahead” program where women in poverty learn how they can move from their current situation to a more sustainable lifestyle. She served on the Governor of Ohio’s Task Force on Poverty as well as on many local committees dealing with homelessness. Yvette has also been active in the Association of Gospel Rescue Missions (now known as CityGate Network) on both district and national levels.
Congratulations Yvette in all of your accomplishments! May your retirement years bring many rewards for your faithful service to the Lord!
